Administration Tools: Installation and Basic Configuration

Beitrag von Lutz »

The Security Manager und the Security Wizard (for the basic configuration)
are Windows based programs to administrate and configure the Securepoint Server. So, you will need a Windows XP, Vista OS... to install the software.

Wizard Basic Installation
----------------------

The Securepoint Server System has the following base configuration:

Network:

eth0 - is up, leads to the Internet, has no ip address
eth1 - is up, leads to the internal network, has the ip address 192.168.175.1/24
eth2 - is up, leads to the DMZ 1 network, has no ip address

User Account for Administration:

Username: admin
Password: insecure

Your Windows workstation should have an ip address on the same network like the
Securepoint system (192.168.175.0/24). The Securepoint wizard will guide you
through the whole setup. The follwing points will be changed through the first setup:

a) Password change for user admin and change the hostname
b) Network configuration
c) Create a dsl configurtion for PPPOE protocol if desired
d) Basic rule setup for accessing the internet from internal network
e) Basic rule setup for accessing the dmz from internal network
f) Basic rule setup for accessing the internet from dmz network
g) Basic rule setup for accessing a server in the dmz from the internet
h) http content filter configuration
i) vpn ipsec configuration for one roadwarrior

Setup Completed
----------------------

After basic setup you can administrate the Securepoint server with the
wizard (limited functions) or the Securepoint Security Manager (full functions).
You should now install and setup the Securepoint logserver on a Windows server
and add on the Securepoint server ip address of the logserver.
