Kernel Panic

Beitrag von ajl119 »

Kernel Panic Error;
"BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 00000030"

We are getting this fairly regularly (once a month or so).
The moth board is a Jetway J7F2WE1G5D (1.5GHz Via CPU).

Do you have any suggestions.
The BIOS is set to optimized defaults.

I can send a screen shot?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,

we don't support foreign hardware components.

Hello, it is not actually foreign as it is the same motherboard as used in the UTM Appliance RC100.
But I do appreciate it was not built by Securepoint and therefore you cant offer any advice.

Cheers anyway.

Ok,

do you have a second system running with the same hardware? Could a hardware problem cause the kernel panic?

Hi,

please turn off EHCI-Mode for the integrated USB-Controller.

Use another DIMM-Module:

With ECC: Kingston KVR533D2E4/1G

NonECC:
Hynix HYMP512U64CP8

The Mainboard is not the same as the CV702A RC100 mainboard.

Hello, thank you for all your comments.
I will try changing the settings in the BIOS as suggested.

We do have an identical unit which is the slave. It does not have the same problem but it is never used.
I might try swapping over the roles.

Sorry, I thought it was the same mainboard.

Thanks :)
Andy
