enable export from UMA

How do I enable the export tab in the UMA appliance?  I would like to export all my mailboxes from the archive for regulatory purposes.

Hello Mr. VanLeeuwen,
The export tap has been directly available since 3.4, there is nothing to enable.

If you don't see the tab after an update, please clear your browser cache and reconnect.

tried with an incognito window with the same result. also tried a different browser.

It can't be seen there either. As I wrote and can also be seen in the changelog, the export feature is available from 3.4. Please update to the latest firmware 3.4.1

The appliance says no update available. How do i get the updated firmware? I inherited responsibility for the appliance and wasn't the one who set it up.

You can trigger an update manually using “Maintenance”. If the machine says that nothing new is available, there is a network problem somewhere. In most cases there are DNS problems, so maybe use a public DNS server there. Or the UMA does not access the internet via HTTPS/DNS. Please check that too.

this is a physical appliance. it has internet access and I was able to upgrade it from 3.3.5 to 3.3.7 after i reapplied the license to allow me access to it.

Can you please use the network tools to see if you can resolve the host ext.proxy-001.spnoc.de?

I did update my dns server and was able to see the update. how long does the update take?

After the download, the UMA offers a restart into the new firmware. After the restart, the update is active.

i clicked dry run and it rebooted and hasn't come back up in 45 min or so. I am also 3000 miles away from the appliance.

If it doesn't come back, you have to restart it manually and then it will come back up in the old firmware.
If necessary, we have to access the machine via ssh and see what has been going on there over the years. There may be a snapshot of an old backup that we then have to remove. I hope you can reach someone locally who can restart it.

I was able to get the folks onsite to pull the power and reboot it. after it came back up i was able to do the upgrade successfully. I can now see the export tab. Thanks for your help.
