Hello, sorry for slow reply. Have been on holiday for Christmas :)

In securepoint manager, under the firewall section/button, then under the 'Network Objects' tab; The left column is for computer groups, and the right table shows a list of available computers and networks.

It is currently not possible to change the order the computer groups are displayed in.
For example, the computer groups are listed in the order they were created in. When you have a large number of computer groups this becomes hard to manage. It would be nice to be able to move the computer groups up and down in the list so associated groups can be placed next to each other.

I hope this makes more sense :)

we are talking about the SM of the 2007nx?

I don't know which right column you are talking about but on the left side you can use drag and drop.
its a bit tricky and i hope it will be easier in the future.

if you drag a firewall (roadwarrior, gw, folder) to the left border of an other firewall (which appears more at the top/bottom) and drop the firewall object there, then you can move the objects.

you have to find the exact place to drop.
with some training you''ll get it.

Achim, thank you for your reply.
I am not sure what you mean by 'SM'?

In the securepoint security manager software, select the firewall button, then select the 'Network Objects' tab.
Or
In the securepoint security manager software, select the 'Firewall' menu from the top menu's, and choose 'Network Objects'.

You can use drag and drop to move objects from the right hand side (individual computers and / or network ranges), onto groups in the left hand side. These groups on the left may be created and named as you like for use in firewall rules.

My issue is not with regards to populating and using the groups on the left, but to do with the order the groups are displayed in. This is purely a visul thing, not functional.

When you create a new group on the left hand side, this new group is added to the bottom of the list of groups. I now have some 30 groups, but because the groups are listed in the order they were created in, it is hard to see and find what i am looking for.

For example, I created a group a while back relating to a particular network zone, and I now need to create another group which contains object that are closely related to the old one and so it would be nice of they could be placed next to each other.

You can drag and drop objects into groups, but you cannot move groups up and down in the list.

I hope this makes sense.
Thank you very much for your time.

Perhaps the Network groups on the left and the network objects on the right could both be listed alphabetically?

I have just noticed that you can infact sort the object on the right had side after all, by either, name, IP address, Mask, Sector or Static NAT. This can be done by clicking the column heading.

Would be great if you could sort the group list too.

i missunderstood you...

i've meant the left side with the listing of your different firewalls (not firewall objects from one firewall).
I agrree with you - the group-objects can not be sortet...

(sm = security manager)
